The history of European integration and the establishment of the EU, the institutions of the EU, Hungary in the EU, the information strategy and information policy of the EU, EU information, typology and systems of information resources and (printed and electronic) documents, online databases, the complete provision of state of the art digital content-service, entrepreneurial and tender activity information resources

The qualification obtained here can be utilised in all fields of the labour-market, where state, and local government institutes and private enterprises regularly and professionally search for EU information resources related to tender activities, market research, innovation, production and trade.

Information and knowledge-management specialisation

Specialist knowledge regarding the form and content of specific, individually tailored, mostly fee-paying information services. Preparation for carrying out information and knowledge management-related tasks at state documentation and information centres and other institutions. Preparation for up-to-date services in small, medium or large national and multinational enterprises.

Specialists taking a degree in this subject can be employed by a wide range of economic, state and communication-related institutes involved in preparing and organising information and data retrieval. There is a significant demand for degree holders in the labour market, as state institutions and for-profit enterprises need innovative and creative information specialists with a high level of business and management competence. Furthermore, there is a significant likelihood of obtaining positions on an international level.

The first comprehensive PhD exam in library science took place in 1958 at our institute. Since 1997 our PhD course has been providing the highest level of Hungarian library science training. Our PhD program operates within the Eötvös Loránd University, Faculty of Humanities, Doctoral School.
